Dear Parents!
I would like to inform you that during the fall break week, the traffic patterns on the section of Petőfi Street affecting our school have changed. Unfortunately, we did not receive advance notice of this change; in fact, according to our information, the district was also unaware of the change—the Budapest Public Roads Corporation modified the traffic route.
Therefore, it is no longer possible to turn onto Petőfi Street from Ady Endre Road; from now on, this section of the street is accessible only from Esze Tamás Street, in one direction.
The change (as it appears so far) affects only Petőfi Street; the traffic pattern on Nagysándor Street has not changed. Those arriving from Ady Endre Road can take Hunyadi, Kisfaludy, or Árpád Streets as detours.
On the side of the school facing Esze Tamás Street, a “No Parking” sign has also been installed, accompanied by a supplementary sign indicating the hours during which parking is prohibited on the school side: from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. On the side of the street opposite the school, where vehicles used to park, a “No Stopping” sign has now been placed along the section of the street in front of the school building; therefore, drivers will not be able to park their vehicles on the usual side.
Chaos is expected on Monday due to commuters following their usual routines and those planning to park right up to the curb, so we have requested the assistance of a school crossing guard for the first few days.
I would also like to inform you that reconstruction of the courtyard gate began during the break; the driveway has become a construction site, so it is expected that bicycles and scooters cannot be stored at the school for about a month. We appreciate your understanding!
I wish you all safe travels!
